  • The New Hampshire Primary Election is Tuesday, September 8th. Voting takes place at the Town Hall, 9 Main Street. Polls open at 8:00 am and close at 7:00 pm. Please remember to vote!

  • The Town Clerk / Tax Collector's office will be closed on Tuesday, September 8th. They will be working the polls at the State Primary Election. Please remeber to Vote!

  • The Alstead Historical Society is presenting a program about the history of New England farm buildings on September 15th, at the Town Hall, at 7:00 pm. Click here for more information.

  • The next Alstead Cemetery Commission meeting is Wednesday, September 9th at 6:30 pm, in the Town Offices

  • Alstead / Langdon Transfer Station FYI: The Burn Pit is now open for brush. Thanks to the Alstead Fire Department for safely burning the brush!

  • Vilas Pool Park FYI: Due to the decision by the New Hampshire Department of Transportation to completely close NH Route 123a / Acworth Road for construction this summer, the Vilas Pool Park is closed to the public for the 2026 season.

  • Private Well Testing FYI: There is an opportunity to have your water from your well tested for free, if you attend this workshop, and meet the requirements. The workshop is sponsored by the NH Department of Environmental Services. You qualify for the workshop if you own a private well in either Alstead or Langdon and you attend the workshop described in this document.

  • Burn Permits FYI: Burn permits are required for open fires on your property. Burn permit information is on the Fire Department web page.

  • Land Clerk FYI: Building permits, Intent to Cuts, Exemptions, Current Use, Abatement info, Subdivision Plans, Updates to Tax Cards & Deeds, and Lot Line Adjustments are now being handled by the Land Clerk, Sharon Iozzo. Contact Sharon with your questions via telephone at (603) 835-2986, by email at siozzo@alsteadnh.gov or stop by the Town Offices to speak with her in person.

  • Library FYI: Beginning Thursday 8/20, the Library will be Closed for 2 to 3 weeks while the front doors are repaired and stained. The Library Director is offering curb-side service during normal business hours while these repairs are made.
